Castlerock Walkfest 2022

Saturday 3rd September

Despite the yellow weather warning the Walkfest went ahead with 125 walkers turning up to do one or more of the 11 walks on offer.  Hear is what some of the walkers had to say:

A big thank you to our walk leader and sweeps who managed to keep us all smiling through the conditions. Here’s hoping for better weather next year.’

Weather was terrible but we slipped, skidded and laughed our way around the walk, leaders Heaney and Rosemary were amazing I will defo do it again next year’

Despite the weather conditions, we had such a brilliant day, meeting and chatting to other participants. Well organised and supported event. Great sense of achievement afterwards. Will definitely do again.’

Colin and his colleague were great leaders. Colin set a good pace making sure to check on all participants regularly. Both had great info to share. Thoroughly enjoyable walk. Thank you!’

Great event well organised thanks to all who giver their time to make it an enjoyable day even with the trying conditions.’

Yet again another fantastic day’s walking at Castlerock Walkfest, despite the rain! Well done to all the organisers, hats off to our brilliant bus driver, and not forgetting the ladies in the hall with very welcome tea and scones at the end of our challenge! Here’s hoping for better weather next year.’
